Auto-Dimming Rearview Mirrors: The 1.4 Second Difference

Here at Valenti Subaru, we want you to be informed about the latest vehicle safety features so you and your passengers can stay safe on the road.

Intense headlights in your rearview mirror can disrupt your vision, and your reaction time, for up to 1.4 seconds. Unfortunately, much can happen in 1.4 seconds. Now, with auto-dimming rearview mirrors, you can be safer driving at night using a process called electrochromism.

Auto-dimming rearview mirrors use ambient light sensors to detect light from following vehicles. Once the light is detected, the integrated microprocessor sends out a charge through the contained electrochromic gel that will darken the mirror to restrict how much light gets through to protect your vision.

To learn more about auto-dimming rearview mirrors and other vehicle safety features, stop by Valenti Subaru today. Our team will be happy to answer all your questions.
